Another 10,800 square feet of commercial space is being proposed off of the heavily trafficked East Yosemite Avenue corridor west of Highway 99.

The area — besides being home to Target, Food-4-Less, Home Depot and a slew of other retailers — draws travelers and locals to more than two dozen dining options within a two block area.

The proposed project before the Planning Commission when they meet at 6 p.m. tonight at the Manteca Civic Center council chambers, 1001 W. Center St., is actually an infill project.

Kunba Enterprises is pursuing the project in the commercial center on the southwest corner of Yosemite and Commerce Drive. It wraps around McDonald’s.

Existing tenants in two existing buildings T-Mobile, Wingstop, Coldstone Creamery, Partners Personnel, Manteca Gold-Jewelry-Coin, Western Dental, and Damour Nails & Salon.

The new building will be built on the southern edge of the property bordering the Holiday Inn Express. It will be next to a cell tower disguised as a clock tower.

The building is designed to be divisible for up to 10 tenants.

The parking lot space needed to support the additional commercial is already in place.
