People are being urged not to feed it to their dogs

Pet owners have been warned not to feed their dogs Encore's tinned beef selection multipack, following fears it may contain metal.

The popular pet food, which is sold in supermarkets around the UK, has been removed from shelves and is under investigation. If customers have purchased the multipack, they are being encouraged to claim a full refund by taking it back to where they bought it and avoid feeding it to their pets. No receipt is required.

A post on the Food Standards Agency reads: "Encore is recalling its multipack Beef Selection in Gravy because the Beef Steak with Potatoes in Gravy tin (156g) may contain small pieces of metal, which is only sold as part of a multipack. The Encore helpdesk is also available here. We're sorry for any inconvenience this precautionary recall may cause. No other Encore products are affected by this recall."

Batch codes LU1-302, LU1-343, and LU1343D are affected. You can find these at the bottom of the product.

The multipack contains five small tins and is popular for the natural ingredients it contains. While it is currently being recalled, the team have stated that no other Encore products have been affected.
