Redmi is bringing back the popular K-series phones in India beginning with the new Redmi K50i. The K20 series launched back in 2019 with the K20 and K20 Pro. At the time, the K20 Pro was a sought after device given it offered the top-end Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor for Rs 27,999 with a premium glass design. We will have to see where K50i is priced by Redmi, though this will likely play in the same Rs 25,000 to Rs 35,000 segment once again.  The launch event for the new Redmi K50i goes live at 12:00pm IST on Xiaomi’s YouTube channel. You can watch the event by clicking on the embedded link below when the launch begins.

The Redmi K50i has been officially kept under wraps, but the phone is expected to be a rebranded Redmi Note 11T Pro (Poco X4 GT in some markets), which means we could see specifications like a Mediatek Dimensity 8100 chip, a 6.6-inch IPS LCD screen and a 64MP triple camera on the back. We will have to wait and see how Xiaomi prices the new Redmi K series option. If it comes with the Mediatek Dimensity 8100 Max it will compete against phones like the OnePlus 10R and the newly launched Oppo Reno8 Pro, going purely by specifications.

The Redmi K50i will be available in three colours. These include the Stealth black, Blue and Quick Silver colourways.

Redmi General Manager Sumit Sonal is here to talk about the Redmi K50i. The company reinstates the importance of 5G, suggesting the phone could be a 5G-enabled phone with multiple 5G bands.

Redmi parent brand Xiaomi reiterated its recent launches marking the company's 8-year anniversary in India. These include the Xiaomi Smart Speaker, Xiaomi Smart Standing Fan 2 and Xiaomi 360 Home Security camera 2i, along with the Xiaomi CyberDog, a personal robotic pet that is not yet available for sale.

The Redmi K50i launch event has begun. We will now learn more about the phone, including price, features and the complete specifications, along with sale information.

The Redmi K50i launch event will begin shortly. To recap, Redmi is expected to launch just one phone today, which is the K50i. The smartphone is set to offer a performance-oriented set of specifications and could very well be a value-for-money device for power users and gamers if priced right.

Hours ahead of the launch of the Redmi K50i, tipster Abhishek Yadav has shared screenshot that shows what looks to be the starting price of the phone. We cannot confirm if this will be the actual price, yet. That should be revealed soon during the launch event.

The Redmi K50i's biggest competition will be the Oppo Reno8 Pro and the OnePlus 10R. This is because all three phones have the same processor, which is the Dimensity 8100-Max from Mediatek. Again we will have to wait and see how Redmi prices the device, given that will impact the K50i's segment as well. But the way Redmi is marketing, this appears to be a device geared towards performance.

The Redmi K50i could, as per reports, be a rebranded Redmi Note 11T Pro. The phone could hence, feature the same specifications, including a Dimensity 8100 chip, a 5080mAh battery, a 64MP triple camera setup and a 6.6-inch FHD+ IPS display panel.

The Redmi K50i is the first K-series phone in India since the Redmi K20-series launched in 2019. Redmi has suggested that people could see a similar value-for-money performance-oriented experience with the K50i. While no specifications are made official yet, leaks suggest that the Dimensity 8100-powered phone could be on par with devices like the OnePlus 10R and Realme GT Neo 3 in terms of raw performance, at least on paper.

The Redmi K50i could compete against other MediaTek Dimensity 8100-powered smartphones like the Oppo Reno 8 Pro, OnePlus 10R and Realme GT Neo 3. The phone is based on the Redmi Note 11T Pro that launched in China, and could come with a 6.6-inch FHD+ IPS LCD screen with 144Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ certification. The phone could be powered by a Dimensity 8100 chip, and come with multiple storage variants up to 8GB RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage.

Other expected specifications include a 64MP+8MP+2MP camera on the back, a 16MP front camera, stereo speakers, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and a 5080mAh battery with 67W fast charging.
